My name is Tammy and and together with my sister Robyn, we are the the Cupcake Crayzee Ladies. We love baking and decorating cakes and cupcakes and love to share our passion of Cupcake Crayziness. We are located in Logan Village in Logan City on the southside of Brisbane.
Cupcake Crayzee was born through something beyond my control, breast cancer. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2011. I had worked in a hospital for 25 years but never would I have imagined that one day I would be a cancer patient. To thank all the staff for their kindness I baked and decorated them cupcakes and during my recovery period I baked more and more cupcakes, with the majority of them being donated to cupcake stalls to raise funds for breast cancer research. I had no idea how popular cupcakes could be, and how much they could raise to fund cancer research. I attended various cupcake courses and as my skills grew my family, friends and colleagues asked whether I could bake and decorate cupcakes for their special occasions. At work they referred to me as cupcake crazy and while contemplating my own cupcake business, Phil, a colleague of mine suggested the name would be perfect as my business name, although with a slight twist, "Cupcake Crayzee", just to be a little different and hey presto, Cupcake Crayzee was born.
I have attained my Food Safety Supervisor's certificate and have met all the requirements to be issued with a food licence for my home-based business. I also have public and product liablity insurance.
Being a breast cancer patient myself I am very passionate about raising funds for breast cancer research. We hold regular cupcake stalls throughout the year and monies raised are donated to breast cancer research. I hope one day they will find a cure for not only breast cancer but all types of cancer and diseases.
